This is a really quick and easy recipe, perfect for those just learning to bake or those who want a quick treat. You can leave the sultanas out if you want or you could replace them with chocolate chips or any other dried fruit – it’s really up to you!
- 200g butter
- 150g sugar
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Grated zest of ½ a lemon
- 400g jumbo oats
- 100g sultanas
Preheat the oven to 190c. Grease and line a 20cm baking tin with baking parchment.
Melt the butter, sugar, golden syrup, cinnamon and lemon zest on a low heat until all combined.
Remove from the pan and stir in the oats and sultanas.
Press the mixture into the tin and bake for 20 minutes or until golden on top.
Leave to cool slightly and then cut into squares.
Enjoy them as a welcome snack!
